Texas Licensed Master Social Workers
- LMSWs may begin supervision upon employment in a clinical setting, either full-time or part-time. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
- As a board-approved Supervisor, I provide both virtual and in-person supervision groups, allowing any LMSW in Texas to participate. Virtual sessions are available for individuals located anywhere within the state.
- According to my supervision plans, I conduct two-hour group sessions twice per month, as well as offer individual supervision by appointment.

The next step is straightforward. After deciding to begin clinical supervision, a supervision orientation will be scheduled (30–45 minutes), which can be conducted via video or in person. During this meeting, the social work supervision agreement and clinical supervision plan will be reviewed. Does your job meet the criteria for clinical supervision?
If you use DSM-V criteria to assess, diagnose, or treat mental health or substance abuse issues for at least four hours weekly, you're eligible for LCSW supervision according to the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners. This applies if you work with professionals who diagnose clients or use diagnostic skills and screening tools.
